Alex Down is a community-driven REALTOR® and public relations professional with experience in the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors. She studied Political Science and French at the University of Ottawa and Public Relations at Durham College. Alex is bilingual in English and French.
Before real estate, Alex kicked off her public relations career at General Motors of Canada, gaining valuable experience in social media, marketing, advertising, and program execution.
Alex works in all residential market segments. She offers a unique skill set to help sellers’ homes stand out in today’s competitive market and to guide buyers through every step of their home purchase. Alex enjoys helping first-time buyers achieve their goal of home ownership, working with move-up buyers who need a bit more space, and helping seniors with their changing real estate needs while building long-lasting relationships.
Alex is an active volunteer as a Director with the Central Lakes Association of Realtors (formerly Durham Region Association of REALTORS) and Chair of their Government Relations Committee. She is a recognized industry advocate on matters related to the constrained housing supply, especially in the GTA. She is often called upon to speak to these matters locally, at Queen’s Park and Parliament Hill.
When Alex is not working, she and her husband Sam, their four-year-old daughter, and one-year-old son are often found walking their Goldendoodle Stanley or hanging out at hockey rinks and soccer fields.
